Hatari President - Lead InvestigatorR. Terry Leonard
Terry is a 37-year veteran of the Department of Defense, federal, state, and local government service. He holds a Master’s Degree from Johns Hopkins University, where he graduated Cum Laude in Global Security Studies with a focus on Strategic Studies. He is a certified FBI National Academy Associate Instructor, Advanced Peace Officer Instructor, Tactical Operations/SWAT instructor, a Demonstrated Senior Logistician (DSL) and a Board Certified Financial Crimes Specialist (CFCS). With over two decades of direct military experience including command positions, Terry holds ratings in intelligence, special operations, logistics, and aviation, and has deployed across the planet.
In a career spanning thousands of cases including complex drug, fraud, gang, and money laundering crimes, he has extensive experience as a lead investigator, case operative, and undercover agent conducting advanced electronic surveillance, crime scene investigations, and tactical law enforcement operations. As a former DEA Task Force Officer working on High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) and Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDTEF), Terry is a subject matter expert on drug and gang investigations and regularly speaks at regional symposiums, training thousands of officers and public safety officials.
Investigator
Sean M.
Sean comes to Hatari as an associate investigator with over 25 combined years of Department of Defense and Law Enforcement experience. As the Commander of a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) task force, Sean has direct experience working on thousands of cases as a supervisor, team leader, undercover operative, and case agent. Sean retired from a metropolitan police department as a Lieutenant with twenty years of experience, including Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), homicide, missing persons, and money laundering cases. His experience includes Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) instructor, team leader, SWAT Operator, and Hostage Rescue Team Leader. Prior to his civilian career, Sean was a United States Marine Sergeant assigned to a Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team (FAST), working in combat zones and austere environments in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Sean is an expert in highly complex investigations, surveillance, counter-surveillance, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), and Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM). He holds an FFA Part 107 commercial drone license & is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Sciences at Rocky Mountain College, Billings, while completing the requirements for his commercial pilot’s license.
Analyst
C.L.
C.L. is Hatari’s intelligence analyst and newest member, with vast experience in social media and OSINT analysis. He is a veteran of the United States military, with global travel experience including Japan, Europe, Central America, and operations in Africa.
He is currently pursuing an advanced degree in pyschology at a major university.
